Main idea : People who have no goals in life can't be successful in life. Aim gives meaning to life.

Amplification : Aims or targets are our source of inspiration. These lead us to reach our success. These inspire us. They guide us to take necessary steps in course of getting success. Aims or targets give us confidence and become the tool of achievements. These help us to move in a targeted manner. A ship without a rudder drifts at the mercy of the wind and waves. It becomes hopeless. It ultimately can't reach its destination. Likewise, an aimless man is like a ship without a rudder. He has no guidelines in front of him. He gets derailed. He can't lead life smoothly. He drifts in the ocean of life like a rudderless ship. An aimless man is lost in the middle. Thus, aim or setting target is important for everyone as an aimless man is directionless. We have to set aim from early life to reach the goal. But we should remember that aim should be grounded in reality and honesty.

মূলভাব : যে মানুষের জীবনে নির্দিষ্ট লক্ষ্য নেই, সে জীবনে সফল হতে পারে না। লক্ষ্য জীবনকে মর্ম বুঝিয়ে দেয়।

ভাবসম্প্রসারণ : উদ্দেশ্য বা লক্ষ্যবস্তু আমাদের অনুপ্রেরণার উৎস। এগুলো আমাদেরকে সাফল্যে পৌঁছতে পথ দেখায়। এগুলো আমাদেরকে অনুপ্রাণিত করে। সাফল্য লাভের প্রক্রিয়ায় প্রয়োজনীয় পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করতে তারা আমাদেরকে পথপ্রদর্শন করে। লক্ষ বা উদ্দেশ্য আমাদেরকে আত্মবিশ্বাস দান করে এবং কর্মসম্পাদনের যন্ত্রে পরিণত হয়। লক্ষ্যবস্তুর ধারায় চলতে এগুলো আমাদেরকে সাহায্য করে। একটি হালবিহীন জাহাজ বাতাস ও ঢেউয়ের অনুগ্রহে ভেসে চলে। এটি অসহায় হয়ে পড়ে। এটি পরিশেষে তার গন্তব্যে পৌঁছাতে পারে না। একইরূপে একজন লক্ষ্যহীন ব্যক্তি একটি হালবিহীন জাহাজের মতো। তার সামনে কোনো দিকনির্দেশনা নেই। সে লাইনচ্যুত হয়ে পড়ে। সে নির্বিঘ্নে জীবন পরিচালিত করতে পারে না। সে জীবন সমুদ্রে হালবিহীন জাহাজের মতো ভেসে চলে। একজন লক্ষ্যহীন ব্যক্তি মধ্যস্থানে হারিয়ে যায়। সুতরাং উদ্দেশ্য ও বিন্যন্ত লক্ষা হরোকের জন্য গুরুত্বপূর্ণ যেমন একজন উদ্দেশ্যবিহীন ব্যক্তি, দিকবিহীন। অভীষ্ট লক্ষ্যে পৌঁছতে আমাদের বাল্যজীবন থেকে লক্ষ্য স্থির করতে হবে। কিন্তু আমাদের শরণ রাখা উচিত যে লক্ষ্য বাস্তবতা ও সততার ওপর ভিত্তিস্থাপন করা উচিত।
